Blue Oasis Technology Building Artificial Coral Reefs Off Malaysia and Portugal

-

A startup company called Blue Oasis Technology is building a pair of artificial coral reef “cities” off the coasts of Malaysia and Portugal.

The one off Malaysia is located in Sultan Iskandar Marine Park, and the other one is off the Portuguese coast of Comporta.

The Comporta reef will be 72 square kilometers (28 square miles). Both reefs will be made of square modules built from recycled sludge and rice husks.
