Deadline Extended For The Wayne Hasson Legacy Scholarship

The Sea of Change Foundation (SOC) has announced that the deadline for applying for the Wayne Hasson Legacy Scholarship has been extended to August 1st, 2021.

The scholarship is a collaboration between SOC and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. It provides a full, four-year undergraduate academic scholarship and is awarded based on need.

The application process is straightforward and competitive and includes applicants submitting an essay titled “What the Ocean Means to Me, My Future, and Positive Change for My Community.”

Commenting on the scholarship, SOC Board Member and Captain Wayne Hasson’s widow Anne Hasson said:

“What a perfect way to honor Wayne’s memory, his dedication to and passion for educating youth about the marine environment will continue through this wonderful scholarship. And we are so grateful to everyone who donated to make this possible; thank you!”
