HeadHunter Spearfishing Releases Guerilla Sling 2.0 and Acquires Sea Stinger

Elias Hernandez of HeadHunter Spearfishing announced at DEMA Show 2015 in Orlando that HeadHunter has acquired Sea Stinger.

No immediate changes will be made to Sea Stinger’s product lineup, but they will focus additional efforts on marketing the pole spear and slip tip line.

HeadHunter has unveiled its teak-handled Guerilla Sling 2.0 with a bow-like grip design that eliminates torque on the spearo’s wrist and instead, focuses the torque on the diver’s forearm. This provides for more stable aim and a more accurate shot.

The Guerilla Sling is a well-planned design that allows the diver to add a reel. This tethers the shaft to the sling, which is particularly beneficial when hunting at deeper depths or in low-visibility conditions. Whether employed for freeshafting or with the reel, the 17-4 stainless steel shaft includes a custom slide ring that fits perfectly into the anodized aluminum speed cup.

The sling is currently in preproduction as is available to dealers on a first-come/first-serve basis. A retail release will occur in coming weeks.

Guerilla Sling 2.0 will have the option of a complete EVA water resistant foam case with grommets for all the pieces of the sling as well as an accessory pocket and room for your mask, snorkel, and gloves. Retail prices are US$200 for the sling and case, $100 for the small reel, $125 for the large reel, the 60-inch shaft is $75, and the 66-inch shaft is $76.

HeadHunter is also featuring its PileDriver Pole Spear, which is made of four interconnecting tubes of 7/8-inch fiberglass that can be configured into combined length of 6, 8, 9, or 11 feet. The length variations require different shooting bands, which are available separately. Designed for shooting larger game such as tuna and grouper, it features the same slip tip as their Predator series. The PileDriver retails for $395 complete.

HeadHunter is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
