After the disruption of 2020, Heroes Del Mar has announced that it is finally heading back out to sea for the second year of a three-year program.
The students will spend nine days exploring the Midriff Islands in the Sea of Cortez aboard the Quino el Guardian.
The Heroes Del Mar program aims to create the next generation of Mexican conservationists by providing unique educational opportunities to children from small Mexican fishing communities.
At the Midriff Islands, the children are accompanied by a team of scientists and a conservation specialist. They will learn about the marine environment and conservation, as well as snorkel with whale sharks at Bahia de Los Angeles.
