A new non-profit organization is on a mission to inspire ocean empathy and marine stewardship, by bringing science-based learning materials and VR experiences to those unable to reach the ocean themselves.
Among the plethora of educational materials that The Hydrous, a 501(c)(3) organization, has available to the public is an activity kit called CORAL REEFS: A Hydrous Learning Expedition.
Hydrous’s CORAL REEFS kit comes with:
- A 122 page Dive Journal including six lessons
- Four sets of Activity Cards and over eight hours of learning
- A Cardboard VR Viewer for your smartphone
- A 3D printed Coral Model and special Hydrous pin
CORAL REEFS is designed to make the ocean accessible so that people with limited knowledge and experience can better understand this fragile ecosystem that is in dire need of our help. The CORAL REEFS activity kit retails for US$165/~€167.
“In addition to designing and creating immersive experiences and dynamic educational resources using scalable technologies, The Hydrous consults on projects and initiatives which seek to connect people with the ocean, bring human elements to science, and facilitate collaborations between a multidisciplinary community of ocean lovers and advocates to form global partnerships.”
It is the hope of The Hydrous to connect 10 million learners to the ocean by 2030.
