Southeast Scuba Escape announced that several spots have opened up on their WhereWorldsMeet sardine run for 2026 in South Africa.
Typically, the event sells out every year, and there is a waiting list. However, this year, there are a couple of options to beat the wait list: This year’s trips are taking place in June on the following dates: June 10-17 and June 19-26, 2026.
During the event, you can experience one of the wonders of nature where whales, dolphins, terns, shearwaters and dolphins feed on the migrating sardines. However, the trip is about so much more than the sardines; other activities include:
- Hiking the pristine seaside cliffs.
- Evening river cruise with wine and appetizer.
- Hilltop paint and sip art class.
- Birding walks or fishing expeditions.
- Tribal community culture experience.
- A classic South African beach Braai.
Commenting on the opportunity, Southeast Scuba Escape owner Szablis Klee stated:
“To say these migration trips are life-changing is an understatement. Participants will immerse themselves into the incredible waters of South Africa where they will interact with large schools sardines. When you’re in the open ocean, others things can also happen. Like last year’s meet-up with humpback whales.”
