“Adapting To Dive,” a new diving documentary, will premiere on May 18th, 2022.
The premier will be held at the Classic Cinemas Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove, Illinois. The new documentary is a collaboration between acclaimed filmmaker David Marsh and Downers Grove-based non-profit Diveheart.
Diveheart is dedicated to helping military veterans, youths, and others with disabilities through adaptive scuba diving. The film itself was a journey of discovery for Marsh, who filmed it on an adaptive diving trip to Cozumel last year. No one knew that Marsh’s son had died a week before from an overdose, and it was not until the last day of the tip that he shared his loss with the group.
Commenting on the new film Diveheart Founder and President Jim Elliott stated:
“David Marsh is amazing and awesome. Despite his loss and grief, he soldiered on and captured the spirit, love, and hope that emerges from every Diveheart trip. He really captured the essence of our mission and shared the real-life experience of what Diveheart does to help those with disabilities experience freedom underwater.”

I’m hoping this documentary will reach many people and give awareness to Diveheart’s mission: to revolutionize rehabilitation by using zero gravity underwater to help those with everything from mobility issues to chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder.
