An oil spill has affected some beaches on the East Coast of the United Arab Emirates. The source of the spill is yet unknown. Hotels and Dive centres have contacted the Ministry of Environment, who have allegedly said that nothing can be done to assist the clean up unless the source of the spill is found. The beaches are apparently now black and stinking, causing dive centres to pack up and close for the day due to fumes.
Hotels and dive centres are forced to pay for their own cleanups as government assistance has allegedly been refused. Photographs of the beach damage will be published by Deeperblue.net shortly.
