The Reef Smart Guides have announced a new Reef Smart Education initiative.
The new initiative will feature a series of hour-long seminars covering a variety of topics, including:
- Scuba diving safety.
- Ref biology and ecology.
- Shark conservation and ecology.
The lectures will be delivered by renowned educator, marine conservation biologist and ocean activist Dr. Alex Brylske, the director of the Reef Smart Guides. With the lectures currently undergoing development and testing, they are being offered free of charge to organizations willing to host them.
Commenting about the new initiative, Brylske stated:
“Science changes quickly, and most divers and snorkelers are unable to track what’s new through the scientific literature. Our seminars are designed to present divers and snorkelers with the information that matters to them in a clear and simple format that eliminates complexity and scientific jargon, so they can better understand the environment they love to explore.”
While Ian Popple, the CEO of Reef Smart added:
“As with all our products and services, the aim of Reef Smart Education is to help dive and snorkelers get the very most out of their in-water experience and provide dive professionals and dive operators with the tools they need to attract and retain avid divers and snorkelers.”
