Shutterbug Mike Stallings Wins Best Of Show At Roatan Underwater Photo Festival

The 2016 Roatan Underwater Photo Festival resulted in quite a number of great pics, but when it was all over, a shot of a sea turtle by Mike Stallings took the “Best In Show” prize.

Sea turtles weren’t the only ocean denizens the contestants had a chance to shoot. The El Aguila Wreck site, sharks and the infamous invasive Lionfish were also the subjects of various photos, and some folks even speared Lionfish for dinner.

Additionally, professional underwater photographer Brenda Stumpf made a guest appearance and photographed models swimming in mermaid tails.

Among the festival sponsors were: Ikelite Underwater Systems, PADI, NightSea, Divers Alert Network, Light and Motion, MARES, SeaLife Underwater Cameras, Trident Diving Equipment, Unterwasser-Das Tauchmagazin, X-Ray Magazine, SUSV, FSSSBlue magazine, Sport Diver, Fantasia Line, DiveNewsWire, Dive News Network Media Group,,, C.M. AIRLINES, Maduro Dive Dream Weaver Travel, Caradonna Adventures, Roatan Charter, Vivid-Pix and DipShipping.
