According to a post on the AIDA Facebook page co-authored by Uros Kojic, Sport Officer on behalf of the AIDA Board and Lyubomir Stefanov, President of the Organization Committee – IAPWC – Burgas:
“Following the feedback received from you and after careful consideration of the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel the 2021 Individual AIDA Pool World Championships (scheduled for 19-29 June 2021).
“Under the current circumstances (health and safety issues, delayed vaccination, closed pools for training, travel restrictions, etc.) we cannot organize a World Championship in 2021.”
The AIDA Assembly will decide the next steps, according to the post.
Last year’s Pool World Championship, scheduled for June 2020, was also canceled.
