Roatan Resort Extends ‘Kids Dive For Free’ Package

Turquoise Bay Resort in Roatan, off the coast of Honduras, this week announced it has decided to extend its “special summer” package for families where kids and teens dive for free.

The resort originally announced the US$869 package for adults — which consisted of seven nights with three dives per day, transfers and meals in a “Garden View Room” with kids — on June 30 that runs from July 4 through September 5 of this year.

Now, that package has been extended to June 1 through August 31 of every summer beginning in 2016 where any young diver aged 8 to 18 traveling with their parents can stay and dive at Turquoise Bay Resort for free.

The new concept is the first of its kind in the dive industry, according to General Manager Jesus Reyes.

“We want to do something to encourage families and young people to be excited about diving not only once, but EVERY summer,” he said.
