Underwater Model And Photographer Talk About Shooting With Sharks

Underwater modeling is challenging enough, and things get more difficult when you are surrounded by sharks on a wreck, according to underwater model Kimber Kiefer.

On a recent shoot, Kimber and her husband and underwater photographer Ken had to use every ounce of their experience.

Shooting on a shipwreck in the Bahamas as a part of a shoot at Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas, the couple got the opportunity to shoot on a shipwreck at 50ft/15m surrounded by sharks.

Recalling the experience, Kimber stated that the shoot took a lot of preparation and planning. She spent several days behind the scenes getting familiar with the environment and the sharks.

One of the keys to the success of the shoot was communication, and the team established a solid, reliable system, having full trust in the entire team! After all at 18m/59ft deep with no mask, no regulator and surrounded by sharks, you have to trust your team to be there for you.

You can check out a video of the shark-laden shoot below.
