CMAS President Anna Arzhanova Recognized As ‘Knight of Human Rights’

The International League for Human Rights has recognized World Underwater Federation President Anna Arzhanova for her organization’s “Blue Helmets of the Sea” initiative.

The initiative helps protect the marine environment, underwater heritage sites as well as educate the next generation about ocean preservation. It’s the first time a sports organization has been recognized with this award.

The induction ceremony took place on May 26th at the league’s headquarters in Milan, Italy.

Arzhanova said:

“I’m very happy to have contributed through the sport to realize initiatives of high social value recognized in the international scope and appreciated in Brussels by European parliamentarians.”
