If you ever wanted to carve a pumpkin underwater, then head down to Key Largo, Florida on Sunday, October 14th, 2018, for the annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest.
Divers working in buddy pairs drop down to 9m/30ft before unleashing their creativity on the pumpkins. Divers have to be careful not to get too distracted by all the reef fish that tend to rush in to nibble all the pumpkin flesh that ends up floating in the water.
The contest will be judged by the crew of the Amoray Diver dive boat, and three lucky teams have the opportunity to pick up several prizes including a dive trip for two people as well as a bag of swag.
The event starts at 8:00 AM on October 14th, and participating divers should assemble at Amy Slate’s Amoray Dive Resort. The dive boat leaves at 8:30 AM.
Participation in the event costs US$85/~€74/~£65, per certified diver.
