Dates For Citizen Science Expeditions to Socorro and Sea of Cortez Have Been Announced

The latest dates for citizen science expeditions to Socorro island and the Sea of Cortez aboard the liveaboard Quino el Guardian have been announced.

Besides diving, participants can increase their knowledge and gain hands-on experience taking part in the various citizen science programs.

Citizen science programs announced for 2021 so far include:

  • The Dolphins of Revillagigedo-(April 29-May 8, 2021 at Socorro) with Dr. Fabio Favoretto & Dr. Erica Carone.
  • Ultrasound pregnant Whale sharks and Manta rays- (May 29-June 7, and November 21-30, 2021 at Socorro) with Dr. Deni Ramirez.
  • The Sea Lion rescue team- (September 12-19, 2021 at the Sea of Cortez/Midriff Islands)- help to identify and free sea lions entangled in fishing line.
