If being a “citizen scientist” is one of the things on your Bucket List and you and a buddy have flexible schedules in the next couple weeks, you might want to check out an upcoming trip to Baja California.
The Quino el Guardian, part of the Rocio Del Mar liveaboard fleet, is offering a last-minute opportunity to take part in a “citizen scientist” cruise from September 18-30. The company is offering a buy one, get one free package, a US$3250/2894 Euros value.
The “Explore Baja” expedition will allow you to dive a range of sites as you travel from San Jose del Cabo to Puerto Peñasco. During the trip, you’ll be joined by two marine biologists and will be able to help them in their experiments as much or as little as you like.
The Quino el Guardian leaves from San Jose del Cabo at 5pm on September 18 and the first stop is the following morning at Cabo Pulmo, where you’ll dive with giant schools of big eyed jacks and enjoy the only living reef in North America.
By the time the trip ends in Puerto Penasco, you’ll have dived among sea lions, dolphins, whales and more. You’ll also be able to take panga tours and walks on the islands.
Space is really limited, so if you and a buddy are interested, you’ll want to hurry and call 602-558-9580 or send an email to dsandoval@rociodelmarliveaboard.com.
