Coinciding with all the excitement of Shark Week, PADI released the latest inspirational story of their #MyPADI series.
The latest video follows surfer Mike Coots, who lost his leg to a tiger shark while out surfing.
Since the incident, he has committed himself to eradicating people’s negative image of sharks and challenging the stereotypes attached to them.
Despite the accident, Coots is quoted as saying:
“I have an incredible respect for sharks and I want to share my story with others so that they are inspired to not only protect them but to get in the water and experience what it’s like to see them face to face in their element because it will forever transform the way they feel about sharks.”
