Diving historian Leslie Leaney is the new Ambassador for Diving History for the Historical Diving Society Asia (HDS Asia) and the ADEX show group.
Leany has a long and illustrious career in the diving industry, having been a co-founder of the Historical Diving Society USA (HDS USA) in 1992. In addition, he was a founding trustee of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum in 2000.
Over the years, Leaney has held various posts at the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, including Museum Curator, Executive Director and Director. Other positions held by Leaney currently or in the past include:
- Publisher and Executive Editor of The Journal of Diving History.
- Advisory Board member of HDS USA, HDS Asia, and SBMM.
- Co-Chairman, of the Santa Barbara Deepwater Diving Monument Committee.
- Committee Posts at DEMA, AUAS, BTS, ADCI.
According to HDS Asia Founder and ADEX CEO John Thet:
