The dates and itinerary of the 39th annual Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival have been announced.
This year, the festival is taking place at Looe Key Reef south of Big Pine Key, part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
The event is set for Saturday, July 8, 2023, and will be staged by US1 Radio 104.1 FM.
The welcome and orientation to the event takes place on July 7, at the Mote Marine Laboratory’s Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration between 6-8 pm.
The main event takes place on Saturday between 10 am and 2 pm, and while guests can enjoy the underwater-themed soundtracks, they can also learn about reef conservation and the best eco-friendly dive practices. Divers and snorkelers attending the event can book space on the lower keys dive boats or launch their own boats from local public marinas and boat ramps.
