NAUI Announces New ‘Next Generation Leadership’ Award

NAUI Worldwide has announced that its awards committee had approved a new award aimed at those who haven’t been in the dive industry for very long, particularly those who reach out to younger potential divers.

The intent of the “Next Generation Leadership Award” is to recognize members who reach out in some special way to improve the sport for younger divers. Potential award candidates would likely be either younger in age or relatively newer to the dive industry and already demonstrate strong characteristics of leadership.

NAUI Awards Chair Cheryl Thacker said:

“It is an honor to recognize the work of individuals who represent the best of NAUI and its mission and who have had such a positive impact on the dive industry as a whole. We encourage our members to take time to reflect on those they know who are worthy of special recognition and submit nominations for the appropriate award.”

Nominations are open for this and all other categories now through August 1st, 2019 at 5 p.m. (EST), and the winners will be announced in November at DEMA Show in Orlando.

Descriptions, nomination criteria, and previous recipients can be found at www.naui.org/awards/.
