NAUI Signs Agreement with Chinese Underwater Association

On behalf of the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI Worldwide), NSG, Inc. announced on 6th January 2004 that it has signed an agreement with the Chinese Underwater Association (CUA) in conjunction with the China Water Sports Administration (CWSA) to provide translated NAUI training materials and cooperative training in the People’s Republic of China.

The organizations have also agreed that NAUI instructors will also be members of CUA. Additionally, senior members of CUA will complete NAUI instructor training and be certified as NAUI instructors. The China Water Sports Administration is the national Olympic organization for all water sports in the world’s most populated nation.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for NAUI in the People’s Republic of China," said Jim Bram, President of NAUI. "NAUI already has translated materials and has been providing training for many years in Hong Kong. This agreement formalizes our relationship with the government and firmly establishes NAUI as a recognized dive training agency with the only legally operating dive center in mainland China, Sport Fun International Center."

NAUI Worldwide is the oldest, second-largest and most respected dive training and certifying organization in the world, and offers a full range of training programs from Skin Diver through Instructor Course Director, with dozens of specialty courses including Nitrox and Technical diving.

Thousands of NAUI member instructors, dive businesses, resorts, and service centers are located in countries throughout the world. For further information on NAUI affiliated stores, resorts, and certified diving instruction, contact NAUI at (813) 628-6284 or www.naui.org.
