Ocean Education International has announced the launch of its ECO PRO Trainer Program.
The program is aimed at dive professionals and operators, and looks to create a community of conservation-driven dive educators. The ECO PRO Trainer Program aims to do so cost-effectively, without the need to send students for external training.
The program looks at transforming everyday dive activities as follows:
- Products: Fun dives are transformed into unique, conservation-focused experiences that can attract premium pricing.
- People: Transform dive pros into individuals who can connect ecology to emotion and lead dives that change behavior.
- Practices: Move from best intentions to documented, ISO 21416/21417-aligned and Green Fins-based standards. Thus reducing environmental damage and risk.
- Brand: Develop your company’s brand from “nice shop” to a recognized pioneer in sustainable marine tourism.
In addition, by qualifying as an internal ECO PRO Trainer, course directors, instructor trainers and resort managers can improve their offerings as follows:
- Improve instructor development and staff training tracks, by integrating sustainability training.
- Ensure continuity by running ECO PRO sessions on a recurring basis, keeping all staff on the same footing.
- Using improved measurable outcomes as benchmarks, including reduced coral contact, better buoyancy and trim, and more.
