PADI Announces 2004 Business of Diving Programs

PADI has released the 2004 Business of Diving Schedule, offering business programs for dive business owners, key management and their employees. Aimed at improving retail focus and practices, these innovative business programs have been expanded for 2004 offering seminars in the areas of staff development, retail education and business orientation. Business of Diving programs will continue to include topics on management training, visual merchandising, sales, marketing and customer service.

New this year, the Staff Development 2004-Obstacles and Opportunities program will focus on the global, national and local issues influencing consumer behavior and how dive professionals can take advantage of those opportunities, overcome objections and increase profitability. Through presentation and workshop activity, this program will help dive operation staff members’ focus on the needs of the business and channel their efforts toward effective acquisition and retention. Staff Development programs will be presented in 24 locations throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Business Orientation Program introduces new business members to programs and services that help bring customers into the dive operation and keep them diving. This 2-day program includes discussions on various topics important to success in the business of diving and, allows participants to meet other new business owners and explore new ways to stimulate business. The Business Orientation Program will be held 2 times during 2004 at PADI’s offices in California.

PADI’s Management Training Workshop is a 3-day program offering a comprehensive management-training curriculum designed to help owners and managers prioritize, refocus and revitalize the management tasks required to run a small business. Held twice annually at PADI’s offices in California, this program offers participants the opportunity to congregate with other retail and resort owners in a structured environment to discuss business concepts and share ideas that work.
