Snorkelling Death in Queensland Australia

A Japanese Dive Instructor was snorkelling last weekend alone near the Flinders Reef, 120 nautical miles from Townsville, Queensland Australia. The alarm was raised at 9am Saturday after he failed to resurface from a duck dive, he was found lying unconcious in 40m of water. He was not teaching at the time and the efforts to revive him back on the dive charter "Spoilsport" failed. A post mortem will be conducted. Col McKenzie secretary and workplace and safety officer from Dive Queensland has said that it is possible that the victim had suffered from shallow water blackout.
