A tiger shark recently killed a man while swimming in the Egyptian Red Sea.
The attack occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023, close to shore in the waters near Hurghada.
According to footage of the incident, this was not a typical one-bite attack but a sustained attack where the man was mauled repeatedly by the 10ft/3m tiger shark. Egyptian authorities announced that local fishermen managed to capture and destroy the shark.
Sadly, this won’t be the first or last attack in the Red Sea. Whenever you have interaction between humans and a body of water that features sharks, these incidents will happen occasionally.
