Two Steps Forward: Stream2Sea Comes To DEMA With New Ways to Support Reef Health

Since their debut at DEMA Show 2015, DeeperBlue.com has been keeping an eye on the trajectory of Stream2Sea, a company that produces a range of eco-conscious body products from sunscreen to conditioner.

Every year, we hear something new and exciting from them. In response to consumer demand, in 2017 they launched a new bulk-sized bottle for many of their most popular products, and added a tinted option to their flagship sunscreen.

This year there is a new product, which we’ll get to in a minute, but the real giant stride in this story is their new Safe Sunscreen Pledge.

Stream2Sea have a version for individuals who are ready to commit to staying educated and using eco-friendly products, as well as another version for wholesalers, retail partners, tour operators, and other industry pros.

Companies that join the pledge on a professional level receive deep discounts on bulk bottles (over 500 applications!) for boats and dive centers, and if they sell customers eight of the consumer-sized 3 oz. bottle of sunscreen, Stream2Sea will offset the cost of one of those bulk bottles. In return, pledge partners promote education about how the chemicals in commonly used products affects reef health.

Now, back to the new product! Though they’re still just in the pilot phase of production, the newest kid on the Stream2Sea block is a sun-protective rash guard. Made in the USA, it has an extra-special feature — it’s made from reclaimed ghost nets! What better way to double-down on your commitment to ocean health than wearing a garment that not only reduces the amount of sunscreen you’ll need to apply, but also reduces the amount of ghost gear floating in the sea?

If you’re at DEMA Show 2018 and you’d like to get your hands on a rash guard, some eco-friendly sunscreen, or the best after-bite/sting relief product this reporter has ever tried, head over to booth 915. If you’re reading this from home and want to sign the pledge or place an order, check out the Stream2Sea website. And if you’re an influencer or industry professional, visit the Wave Maker page to learn about their ambassador program — get great perks while you make a difference!
