Walk One F’in Mile For Shark Conservation

Shark and Marine Conservation Charity Bite-Back and diving equipment manufacturer Mares are looking for divers to do something silly for shark conservation this summer and take part in a sponsored walk in fins. The second annual One F’in Mile event is on Sunday 31 August at Kempton Park Racecourse in Surrey from 11am. A lap of the famous racecourse takes about 40 minutes and the soft surface won’t damage fins – plus there’s no training needed!

There’s even talk of an egg and spoon race on the day too!

Kempton Park Racecourse (TW16 5AQ) has loads of free parking and a direct train to/from Waterloo every 30 minutes (in case you fancy a celebratory beer afterwards!).

All proceeds will go to help fund the charity’s ‘Hacked Off!’ campaign to make Britain shark fin-free. It costs £20 to register at http://bit.ly/1mjWDNA and gives you a chance to ask anyone you’ve ever sponsored in the past to sponsor you back!

There is also an international version available where people are invited to walk one mile in fins to raise money for the charity.

Why not grab some friends or sign up your dive club and show your support for the sharks?
