Australia’s freediving pool national championship will be held at Sleeman Sports Complex, Brisbane, Australia from Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May 2017.
This is the largest pool national competition ever held in Australia with 45 athletes from all over the country and overseas. Athletes will compete in three AIDA disciplines: Static Apnea (STA) on day 1, Dynamic No Fins (DNF) on day 2, and Dynamic with fins (DYN) on day 3.
Registered athletes include current Australian national record holders Amber Bourke and Leigh Woolley. We will also have the World Record holder in DYN, Mateusz Malina as a guest who will do an informal DYN performance as a starter on day 3.
The competition is hosted by the Australian Freediving Association (AFA) and the Brisbane Freedivers and supported by generous sponsorship from Mares, SSI Freediving, Sydney Dive Safari, Encounter Freediving, and Apnea Australia. Live results from the competition will be posted on AFA’s Facebook page.
