Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands — Carolina Schrappe has returned home. Home to the deep blue waters of Cayman where the Brazilian beauty feels most comfortable. Having missed the last two annual PFI competitions, Carol could not wait to get back in the water this year and make her mark at Deja Blue II — which is exactly what she did. On Sunday, May 8th, under constant ballast, Carol executed an absolutley elegant dive to 74 meters. Schrappe’s speedy dive took only 2 minutes and :10 seconds to complete, and with it she regains her national title as well as the South American title for CWT. “I am so happy!”, Carol exclaimed “this dive was my Mother’s Day present to myself.”
A mother of three, Schrappe runs the Acquanauta dive shop in Brazil, with her husband Reinaldo, where they offer freediving and scuba courses. “I would especially like to thank my family for their support and to my terrific sponsors FunDive, Arribatur, and Xannadu who all help to make my records possible.” said Carol.
