The Diving Equipment & Marketing Association’s board of directors will hold its first meeting of 2019 from February 7th to 8th in San Diego, California.
The Board will focus on setting DEMA’s strategic goals and objectives for the year to bring businesses together to grow the diving industry worldwide. Topics for discussion will include:
* 2018 DEMA Board Member Self-Evaluations
* Developing a Member Engagement Strategy
* International Membership and Programs
* Proposed 2019 Programs and Budget Review
* Officer Appointment and Committee Recommendations
The first day of the board meeting will start off with the election of the Board Chair from among the nine Board Members. Current Board Members include Mike Hollis from Aqua Lung, Jenna Meistrell from Body Glove, Kristin Valette-Wirth from PADI, Jerry Beaty from Dive Training Magazine, Dan Orr from Dan Orr Consulting, Patrick Hammer from Scuba Emporium, Myra Kurn from Ocean Enterprises, Stuart Cove from Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas, and Tim Webb from Caradonna Dive Adventures.
After the election of the board chair and discussion of financials, DEMA bylaws, a membership update and other topics, board officers and committee chairs will be appointed.
