The first offspring from the Atlantis family of dolphins hasbeen born at Dolphin Bay, the new dolphin encounter and educationcentre at the Dubai resort.
The calf, as yet unnamed, was born to a dolphin called Butters in aspecial maternity pool within the habitat and mother and calf havespent the first days nurturing and bonding.
“The calf is beingmonitored 24 hours a day by marine mammal specialists to ensure thecalf is healthy and developing on schedule,” said Frank Murru, chiefmarine officer, Kerzner International.
