FORCE BLUE And Sea Of Change Team Up Against Toxic Sunscreen

The Sea of Change Foundation and FORCE BLUE have teamed up to tackle the issue of sunscreen and marine conservation.

Most over the counter sunscreens contain Oxybenzone, which is highly toxic to corals. The FORCE BLUE campaign aims to get its supporters to engage and choose coral-safe sunscreen.

Since 2018, FORCE BLUE and the Sea of Change Foundation have teamed up to get FORCE BLUE’s members more involved in marine protection. The campaign produces a regular series of public service announcements, highlighting a key issue. The latest announcement about sunscreens was released on August 1, 2019.

According to the Chairman of the Board of the Sea of Change Foundation, Wayne Brown:

“As a veteran, I’m pleased that our Foundation is partnering with FORCE BLUE to help support my fellow veterans in their fight to protect our oceans.”

Samantha Whitcraft, the Director of Conservation and Outreach for the Sea of Change Foundation, stated:

“Partnering with FORCE BLUE provides the perfect opportunity to empower the broader military community to make sustainable choices for themselves, their families, and our oceans. We’re thrilled to work with them to expand awareness about these important issues.”
