If you weren’t at the most recent DEMA Show held last November in Orlando, Florida, you may have missed a tremendous honour given to a member of the diving industry.
The Divers Alert Network honoured Lee Selisky as the first recipient of its new Lifetime Achievement Award.
Selisky received the award after a career spanning more than 40 years in the diving industry, particularly for service to the recreational dive industry.
According to DAN CEO Bill Ziefle:
“Lee Selisky has devoted his life to diving. Though most people know him as the founder and CEO of Sea Pearls, Lee is also well known for his active service on many industry boards, including DAN’s, over the years. His thoughtful counsel has helped guide this industry for more than 40 years.”
Selisky is the founder and CEO of Sea Pearls Inc. which makes scuba diving weights. He has held a large number of leading roles in the diving industry, including that of DEMA president, and has served on the boards of DEMA, DAN and The Ocean Futures. About Selisky’s contribution, Ziefle added:
“His advice has proven valuable and we have benefited greatly from his service and experience. It’s my great honour to present him with this Lifetime Achievement Award.”
