PADI have announced that due to the expanded IDC Business of Diving section focuses on propersales techniques in the Instructor Development course will reinforce the important role that instructors play as membersof a dive retail or resort sales team.
Douglas Nash,PADI International Vice President of Sales and Marketing has commented, “In thecurrent economic climate, it is essential for all businesses to maximize theirsales potentials. Expanding the salestraining within the IDC ensures instructors have a deeper understanding oftheir sales role within a dive operation, and how this can lead to the successof both the dive business and themselves professionally.”
All candidates are to participate in a sales workshop ideallyconducted in a dive center or resort retail area in order to hone their selling skills.Each candidate will act as both salesperson andcustomer with the PADI Course Director evaluating and coaching sales techniques.
All IDC curriculum changes will be unveiled during the Course Director Update held prior tothe DEMA Show 2009 next month, as well as regional programs around the world.
