From November 27 to January 4, 2025, the Reef Check Foundation and Surf-Fur along with Miss Scuba are hosting a virtual polar plunge.
Called the “Reef Check Freeze Off,” anyone from around the globe can participate.
Find some water, jump in and then challenge three people to take the plunge.
According to Cynthia Issel, founder of Surf-Fur:
“We wanted to create a fun event for friends and family to do over the holiday season.”
Participation is free; however, tickets are available for US$35/~€30 to be entered into a raffle. An additional $50/~€43 buys three more entries to win prizes from Surf-Fur, DIVEVOLK, Dive Lantern, LEFEET and more.
Proceeds benefit the Reef Check Foundation to help train citizen scientists around the world in their mission to survey the health of tropical coral reefs and kelp forest ecosystems.
