Reef Smart Guides introduced “Beneath the Blue Planet,” their new comprehensive guide to the ocean at this year’s DEMA Show in Orlando, Florida.
The book includes four major components: Oceanography, Coral Reefs, Sharks and a section entitled “Doing the Right Thing” which helps the reader implement this information for sustainable dive practices. Written by Alex Brylske, this in-depth guide is focused on educating divers about the ocean, its creatures and its conservation.
Reef Smart Guides is best known for their waterproof maps that allow the diver to take slates underwater which contain pertinent dive information as well as a full map of the site/wreck. They have since produced eight guidebooks for destinations such as Bonaire, Barbados and the Florida Keys.
“Beneath the Blue Planet” is meant to become a knowledge base for all dive professionals in the industry, stressing the need to learn about your environment as apart of traditional dive training.
The book retails for US$37.99/~€38.44, and is available in stores such as Target, Walmart and Barnes & Noble as well as online at reefsmartguides.com.
