Rodale's Scuba Diving Magazine Appoints New Travel Editor

Rodale’s Scuba Diving Magazine has announced that Deborah Kirk will be joining the staff as Travel Editor. A former Features Editor at Elle and Harper’s Bazaar and Contributing Editor at Details magazine, Deborah brings a wealth of editorial experience and talent to the position.

In addition to her editing experience, Deborah is a widely published features writer with contributions to Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone and Mode and travel features on destinations including Panama, Mexico and Bulgaria in Travel & Leisure. She is also an avid diver with advanced open-water certification and medic first-aid training. Deborah has dived extensively in destinations from Honduras and the Bahamas to Tahiti and Bora Bora.

Deborah’s primary responsibilities at Scuba Diving will be editing the front-of-the-book Currents section and editing Scuba Diving’s travel coverage including dive guides, the "Drive & Dive" department and "Dive Log" features. She’ll be spending some time on the road and writing many of the dive guides herself.

Deborah’s start date is February 17. She will be working from home in San Francisco until she and her husband can relocate to Savannah in June.

Deborah says she’s excited about "the opportunity to combine two of my passions: magazine editing and recreational scuba diving."
