The International Poster Contest For Youth photo contest for 2017-2018 is up and running. The main objective of the contest — which started more than 30 years ago — is to engage with young people and let them illustrate their concerns for the ocean and environmental causes through art.
Dive News Network confirmed that as per usual, the contest has many sponsors this year, including DAN, NAUI, the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences, and the Underwater Society of America to name but a few. New sponsors this year include the History of Diving Museum in Florida.
Each year the contest has a theme, and the 2017-2018 edition’s is the Human Exploration of the Oceans. The objective of this year is for the youth to express their concerns with depictions of submarine conservation efforts, exploration and other underwater activities.
All entries must be submitted by May 30, 2018. The full rules of the competition can be found at NAUI Green Diver. There are different awards for both Primary and Secondary schools, as well as medals for the first-place winner and for the winner of the Special Caring Award. Entries must be accompanied by the free-to-print application, and in keeping with the history and tradition of the contest, there is no entry fee.
