Warfighter Scuba and Scuba Schools International have announced that they are teaming up to bring scuba to wounded veterans.
The organizations will be providing a week-long trip to Roatan, Honduras, for recipients of the Purple Heart medal or equivalent from allied NATO countries.
SSI has been a supporter of Warfighter Scuba since its launch in 2017 and has consistently provided free course kits to wounded personnel attending the program.
Warfighter Scuba aims to help veterans overcome the injuries they suffered through scuba. The organization looks to help with physical injuries like amputation and paralysis and also psychological trauma like PTSD.
According to Nick Powers, the founder of Warfighter Scuba:
“SSI has been instrumental in our mission by providing top-of-the-line online learning and being well ahead of its competitors with the push to digital learning materials and c-cards. SSI and their technology are years ahead, and as a dive professional, the support is incredible. SSI’s support for our dive center and professionals is above and beyond what other professionals from other agencies have explained to us.”
