-

The third competitive day of the AIDA Individual Freediving Depth World Championships had the women show the men how to do it!  24 athletes from 12 countries took to the blue and white platforms off the coast of the Roatan to prove who is best in Constant Weight (CWT).

Unlike two days ago where the Men really struggled during their Free Immersion (FIM) competition day, the women were extremely strong during today’s Constant Weight dives. Continuing the trend of women getting stronger over the last 18 months.

We saw most of the dives come up clean, as well as a National & Pan-American Continental Record for Sofia Gomez Uribe from Colombia at 96m who looked very relaxed during her dive.

As usual, athlete protests and judge reviews are yet to happen but based on performances today the top three podium places are likely to be:

  • GOLD – Alenka Artnik (Slovenia) – 100m
  • SILVER – Alessia Zecchini (Italy) – 98m
  • BRONZE – Sayuri Kinoshita (Japan) – 97m
