Five national records were set on Day 6 of the 2022 Caribbean Cup freediving competition.
In the Constant Weight with Monofin (CWT) discipline, Argentina’s Ricardo Montans set a new men’s national record with a 96m/315ft dive. Taiwan’s Lin Lan Lien set a women’s national record with a 69m/226ft dive, and Thailand’s Nannaphat Sirison set a women’s national record with a 40m/131ft dive.
In the Constant Weight with Bifins (CWTB) discipline, Mexico’s Pepe Salcedo set a men’s national record with a 96m/315ft dive.
In the Constant Weight No Fins (CNF) discipline, Taiwan’s Mingchun Huang set a men’s national record with a 63m/207ft dive.
The USA’s Tory George, who was gunning to extend his Free Immersion (FIM) national record to 104m/341ft, didn’t attempt his dive.
Canada’s Matthieu Duvault, who sought a CWTB men’s national record with an 85m/279ft dive, was earned a red-card disqualification.
Honduras’ John Bodden, seeking a 55m/180ft CWTB national record, got a yellow card for ET.
Italy’s Alessia Zecchini dove to 89m/292ft in the FIM discipline, a dive she described as “easy, beautiful and gave me wonderful feelings and a great desire to get back to diving as soon as possible.”
