Aqua Native has announced the launch of the Underwater with Performance with Air PADI Distinctive Specialty Course and the corresponding course textbook, Underwater with Air, a program that combines the art of underwater performance with the disciplines of SCUBA, mermaiding and freediving.

This new course invites participants to explore their creative movements underwater, design engaging underwater performances while integrating their individual movement backgrounds with a focus on safety, individuality and artistic execution.

Aqua-Native’s Underwater Performance with Air program offers a playful and inclusive space for certified divers to utilize their movement skillsets to create unique and individual performance work. Designed for divers, dancers, yogis and athletes alike, the course invites participants to navigate the weightless environment of the water with grace and intention. By connecting deeply with their bodies, practitioners move beyond traditional diving to discover their own unique aquatic expression, turning the underwater world into a canvas for fluid, unrestricted movement all while following safe and established SCUBA industry practices.

The Underwater Performance with Air curriculum provides a safe, progressive framework designed to develop both physical technique and artistic confidence. The program offers a seamless journey that begins with establishing a strong foundation of safety and movement in shallower water. Participants start by mastering the fundamentals of dynamic breathing management and learning to navigate the water with horizontal flow. As skills and confidence evolve, the training transitions into deeper environments, allowing practitioners to explore advanced diving techniques and artistic performance while deepening their mastery of safety protocols in vertical, deep-water setting.
