“TheAge.com.au has reported that the Bracks Government had ripped off and misled tertiary students over its promise to reduce tertiary travel concession card costs, according to student union leaders.
Despite a pre-election commitment from Labor to bring tertiary cards into line with primary and secondary concession card charges – which cost $7.15 – the tertiary price had fallen only from $116 to $75, Daniel Perkins, the National Union of Students’ state education officer said.
