Bug-Fest-By-The-Sea Kicks Off July 25

If you’re keen on diving for lobsters, there’s a new resort in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida that’s offering discounted room rates during the annual mini-season for hunting lobsters next month.

The Plunge Beach Hotel recently announced a partnership with the town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea on the sixth annual “Bug-Fest-By-The-Sea,” a week-long series of events and dives centered around Florida’s annual lobster mini-season, July 25-30, 2017.

Festivities kick off with the official 2017 Lobster Mini-Season Kickoff Party on Tuesday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Plunge Beach Hotel’s oceanfront Back Flip Beach Bar. Guests can win raffle prizes and enjoy underwater photography on display. The event is free and open to the public.

Doug Barrow, general manager of the Plunge Beach Hotel, said:

“Bug-Fest-By-The-Sea has become the leading lobster mini-season event in Florida and we are thrilled to participate and offer discounted room rates for the week. This is a great family event and we welcome everyone who travels from near and far to enjoy the spectacular offshore diving.”

If lobsters aren’t your thing, you can also dive the wreck of the SS Copenhagen, a state underwater archaeological preserve off the Town that is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Plunge Beach Hotel is offering divers a discounted rate of US$95 per night midweek with double occupancy during BugFest. To book a reservation, go to plungbeachhotel.com, call 754-312-5775 or send an email to info@plungebeachhotel.com.
