July 26 (Bloomberg) — A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the Nicobar Islands in the Indian Ocean, the U.S. Geologic Survey said in an e-mailed alert. The statement didn’t include a tsunami warning.
The earthquake hit at 5:07 a.m. Nicobar time, 133 kilometers (83 miles) southwest of the islands, the USGS said. The quake struck at a depth of 24 kilometers.
