Wanderlust Dive Pro announced that it is now taking enrollments for the 2026 SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) schedule.
The next course is scheduled to take place between July 6 and 15, 2026, while the SSI Instructor Evaluation is slated for July 16 and 17, 2027.
The program is led by the only SSI Instructor Trainer on Bonaire, Stephan Velema, and runs for 10 days.
Candidates will cover a range of topics, including:
- In-water teaching presentations
- In-water skill development
- Rescue scenarios
The course included detailed feedback and guidance to help candidates develop their teaching skills and reach their potential as scuba instructors.
Commenting on the launch, Velema, who is also the founder of Wanderlust Dive Pro, stated:
“SSI is where the industry is moving, and the way they train fits how I think about teaching. I am not here to help you pass the Instructor Evaluation. I am here to mentor you. The exam is a floor, not a ceiling, we train candidates to about 120 percent of what it requires, because that is the difference between someone who passes and someone who can actually teach.”
