Fins Attached Announces A New Shark, Rays Marine Biology Course

Renowned marine biologist Dr. Peter Klimley has teamed up with marine research and conservation nonprofit organization Fins Attached to offer a new marine biology course focused on sharks and rays.

Klimely has studded sharks for over three decades and is amicably known as “Dr. Hammerhead.” The new course will take place in the summer of 2019 in the waters of the Eastern Tropical Pacific.

Klimley has authored over 60 papers on sharks and has studied a wide range of behaviors, including social habits and navigational abilities. Commenting on the new course he stated:

“Although I am now retired from UC Davis, my passion for sharks and marine biology has not waned. Partnering with Fins Attached is a way for me to continue to contribute to the study and conservation of sharks and rays.”

Fins Attached founder Dr. Alex Antoniou commented on the involvement of Klimley:

“We are very excited to have Dr. Klimley on board with us… This will help fulfill a key mission for Fins Attached, to educate future marine scientist to ultimately help protect these vulnerable animals.”
