Freediving Emergency Medical Course Announced By The Diver Medic

A new freediving emergency course has been announced by The Diver Medic.

The new course is called the Freediving Emergency Medical Responder (FEMR) Course and is placed between the First Aid and EMT level courses.

The course aims to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to keep people alive and manage someone’s sudden illness or injury. Subjects covered in the course include, amongst other things: airway obstruction, unconscious casualty, management of shock, puncture wounds and Anaphylaxis.

The course is split into two parts. An online component that can be completed separately, followed by a practical section that takes up to six hours and can be completed with an approved instructor of your choice.

The online component costs US$60/~£44/~€52, while the fee for the practical part of the course is determined by the instructor offering the course.
