Finnish freediver Johanna Nordblad stars in a Netflix documentary where she attempts to set a world record for distance traveled under ice with one breath.
In 2010, Nordblad was in a bike accident that resulted in a broken leg. A doctor advised her to use cold water treatments and in 2015 she set a women’s world record by swimming 50m/164ft under the ice.
In March 2021, Nordblad swam a CMAS-certified 103 meters (338 feet) without fins or wetsuit beneath 60-cm (1.97-foot) thick ice at Lake Ollori near Hossa, Finland.
